Ethnic Village and School

Merry, Merry Christmas to ALL where ever you are!! HO HO HO

This morning Milt called me to say that he had a long night and was going to stay in the room for at least the morning, so he would not be at breakfast. I went to breakfast about 8 AM which I thought would bypass the morning rush but there was another wave of guests this morning at 8 AM.

After breakfast, I did my email in the hotel's business center, then went back to the room to check on Milt. I found out then that the price of the weekend tour was a lot less than I first thought, which was good news. I did some things in my room, then walked to the bookstore for lunch.

After lunch, Milt felt well enough to go to school. Only Allan came with the driver to take us to school-understandable as they must all be tired from yesterday. At school, Milt and I both went to our respective rooms.

Students seem eager to be in my class even though most have limited English. I have had great success with having them write a unique quality about themselves, then read them aloud. Teachers continue to sit in on the classes and participate too. Sometimes I don't know when the class ends as no one seems to move even if the bell as rung. And the door is closed and no one opens it. I am sure on my last class I went over at least 10 minutes. Today, one class actually was outside my door, not
scheduled, and asked to join my class. I then told them "sure" and so now I had one large class, and mostly boys. But they all listened and participated the whole time. One student told their regular teacher that they would like English if their class was like mine!! haha! Probably didn't make the regular teacher feel good but she was the one who told me.

In the evening, Milt and I went back to the western restaurant just to make sure we didn't get sick.

I am not going to write much but included some photos of the Ethnic Village.
